National Children’s Dental Health Month is an important reminder that preventive oral health care lays the foundation for lifelong health, confidence, and opportunity. In Fort Bend County, community health partners are advancing access to essential dental services for children and supporting families with education, prevention, and clinical care.
Casa El Buen Samaritano integrates compassionate dental care into its broader mission of healing and service. Under the leadership of Dr. Paul Lee, Dental Director, the clinic has expanded preventive and restorative services, including cleanings, screenings, and innovative technologies like 3D scanning, to reach more children and families. Beyond clinical expertise, Casa’s work reflects the belief that access to dental care is a privilege that should be extended to all

“People don’t always realize it, but dental care is a privilege. Providing that privilege, especially to those who’ve gone without, is amazing.” — Dr. Paul Lee, Dental Director, Casa El Buen Samaritano
San Jose Clinic provides uninsured and underinsured children with critical dental services that emphasize early intervention and continuity of care. Through routine exams, preventive treatments, and oral health education, San José helps families prevent cavities and manage oral health concerns before they escalate, fostering resilience and reducing barriers that often deter families from seeking care.
“Teaching children healthy dental habits early sets them up for a lifetime of confidence and wellness. Preventive care truly makes all the difference.” — Juan Carlos Martinez, DDS
AccessHealth is dedicated to promoting lifelong oral health for children across its service area by offering pediatric dental exams, cleanings, fluoride treatments, and targeted oral health education. Through partnerships with schools and in-clinic services, AccessHealth emphasizes early prevention and family engagement, strategies that reduce cavities and improve broader health outcomes in childhood and beyond.

Since 2022, the Foundation has been supporting Casa el Buen Samaritano’s dental services. Fort Bend dental services with San Jose Clinic began in the summer of 2022, and AccessHealth’s long-standing dental clinic in Stafford has received Foundation support since 2005. During National Children’s Dental Health Month, we recognize and celebrate the vital contributions of Casa El Buen Samaritano, San José Clinic, and AccessHealth, partners who are achieving measurable progress in improving children’s oral health and enhancing community well-being.
