MESSAGE ON HARVEY

  • August 29 - December 31 MESSAGE ON HARVEY

    Dear Grantees,

On behalf of The George Foundation's Trustees & Staff, our thoughts are with you, your families and your clients. During these unprecedented times, we recognize that the local nonprofit sector will be stretched, as you work to serve your constituents while going beyond the stated mission to support recovery efforts, all while also personally dealing with the aftermath of Harvey.

Please know our "proverbial doors" are always open (foundation offices remain closed at this time). Let us know how you are doing, how your staff and facilities fared, and of course what client needs you are witnessing. While we recognize assessment of the storm's damage is in the early stages, your perspectives will be critical to developing a clear understanding of the current state of local needs and emerging opportunities. The George Foundation will continue to assess to better understand what role we can play in recovery efforts.

We appreciate your compassionate service and look forward to remaining in touch as we all move toward a shared goal of rebuilding our great and resilient community.

    Yours in service,

    Roger Adamson

    CEO

NOTE: During these extraordinary times, please know our foundation will be amenable to flexing on requirements noted in grant contracts (e.g grant reports or grant contingencies due). Once the foundation is able to get back to some semblance of normal operations, our grants team will be in touch to ensure revised requirements are feasible for grantees. Quynh-Anh McMahan, Grant Officer, will be glad to field any questions you might have (qmcmahan@thegeorgefoundation.org).
